The Chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council Mr. V D Kamaraddi has urged the Chief Justice of India to fill the vacancies in the Karnataka High Court.
With the retirement of yet another judge, the vacancy mark in the Karnataka High Court has reached 15. There are matters of 2012-2024 awaiting disposal. The judges of the Karnataka High Court are working on rotation and trying their best to dispose the cases.- the letter reads.
'For the last five years there is no direct appointment of judges to the Karnataka High Court' the letter points out the sad state of affairs.
The chairman has urged filling up of the vacancies to render justice to the litigants waiting for the disposal do their cases.
Pendency of the cases in the Principal bench, Bangalore, Dharwad and Kalaburagi benches have been increasing. Attempts shall be made in advance to meet the requirement of judges.
Few years ago, when the vacancy increased to an alarming level, the Advocates wen on 'Dharna' demanding immediate action to fill the vacancies.
