Advocates Association opposes the proposed transfer of Karnataka High Court Judges.

  • 18-April-2025 10:15

The Advocates Association (R), Dharwad Bench, has addressed a letter to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India expressing strong protest against the rumored or proposed transfer of four Karnataka High Court judges:

Key Concerns Raised: Shock and disbelief across the Karnataka Bar over the news of these proposed transfers.

These judges are praised for their selfless service, integrity, legal acumen, empathy, and efficiency.

The transfers are feared to have a disruptive and crippling effect on the functioning of the High Court and the morale of both the Bar and the litigant public.

The move is described as retrogressive and taken without consultation with stakeholders such as the Bar.

The Association has unequivocally and unanimously registered its protest and expressed its unwillingness to accept the transfer of these judges.

The letter is signed by V.M. Sheelvant, President of the Advocates Association (R), High Court of Karnataka, Dharwad Bench.

Letter enclosed.
